
Megan Calligan
Megan began her dancing career at the age of 3 and quickly fell in love with the arts. She spent 15 years training and competing in various genres (including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and musical theatre) and has won multiple awards and scholarships throughout Canada and the United States. Megan’s love of performing and dedication to her training landed her many stage roles in various plays and musicals over the years. She was cast as a Disney performer in 2014 and spent several years sharing her love of singing, dancing, and creating *Disney Magic* with children of every age.
Megan has been teaching at WDI for the past 10 years and has won numerous choreography and costume design awards, including Top Choreography at Nationals in 2018. She was the recipient of the Reader’s Choice Awards: Top Dance Teacher in 2019 & 2020 (platinum award) and earlier in 2018 (diamond award). Alongside teaching, Megan began to branch out to adjudicating competitions in 2017 and continues to broaden and develop her artistry by attending various workshops and teaching conventions.
Megan currently directs the competitive program at WDI and instructs classes in both the competitive and recreational stream. Megan’s vibrant energy and deep passion for dance continues to fuel and educate WDI students in a positive light to create strong, confident, and empowered dancers. Megan continues to be inspired by her students and incredible team of co-instructors, and is dedicated to providing a safe and happy space for all members of the WDI family to call ‘home’.
